and adapter would have worked on canon's newer model I would have gotten one of thoes instead. It was very dirty and scratched up perty badly I just hope it lasts longer than the one i purchased new.I haven't checked the ink resivor tank to see if it will need a reset but i can do that myself when needed and I have the one from the old printer. So far it works and that is why i bought it I also used the battery and bluetooth adapter from my broken one if the batt. I bought this to replace one that stopped working for no apparent reason after printing maybe 100 pages. I recived this one and it was in ok shape but looked like it has been around the block a few times.
Sheet feeding seems to be an issue at this point also. The i80 printer shipped quickly and I love the size and efficient way it prints. You get what you pay for. I'm using it as a second printer because of these problems. However, after using it for a short period of time the printer is not performing as well as I thought it would. When I replaced the ink cartridges the color was faded and when doing a cleaning I still have the same problem.
I have printed nice pictures with it too. (knock on wood) Other than that, I have had no problems and trust me, I have used this printer a LOT. I printed many a research paper using this little machine. As a graduate student, I wanted a portable printer to go with my laptop in order to do my research papers. This is a great printer. I read the reviews of several people having problems. This was in 2004. I have had this printer for three years and the biggest problem has been that the paper jams if you insert too many at a time.
If you buy a refill kit from say, "[.].", you can refill your own for pennies each. In addition to all of the other "Kudos" awarded to this printer by the other reviewers, I want to add the following. YAY Canon -- DOWN for HP. I do, they are VERY easy to refill, work as good as new, and canon even gives you a "Reset Ink Level" option under the print driver "maintenance" section. While the price of "Genuine Canon" ink cartridges may (does) border on outright robbery, you DON'T have to buy them. Compatible cartridges are dirt cheap at places like "[.].".
In conclusion, I have 6 Epson printers, and they have problems as well, but nothing like the Canon. Prints that I made on the canon photo paper faded right away. It has definitely NOT worked a lot more than it has worked.
Prints look good and it is super small. The heads dry out really fast, and after a while, it doesn't even see the new ink cartridges. I travel a lot and have a lot of Canon equipment, so I thought this would be a good choice.
My cost per print runs about $3 because of the waisted ink. Not recommended. Unfortunately, I had to take it in for a full rebuild 3 times under warranty, and I really don't use it much at all.
That might be part of the problem.
